The Arc
Graduate School of Education and Human Development
“The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards justice.”
― Martin Luther King Jr.
Seeking to add another layer of personal and academic support within the GSEHD community, the Office of Student Life and GSEHD students established The Arc in the Fall of 2016 to create an open and inclusive space for underrepresented students to discuss intercultural issues and share personal experiences. Since equity and social justice are critical topics in America, The Arc steps in as a safe haven to have those necessary, but sometimes difficult, conversations.
The Arc has three main objectives:
-
To create a space that empowers underrepresented populations by honoring their individual experiences.
-
To facilitate educational opportunities and conversations that engage the GSEHD and GW communities.
-
To affirm and celebrate the unique heritage of our students.
Ultimately, the Arc strives to be a voice for our students to be open and honest about their unique perspectives. We invite you to join in on the conversation and share your feelings, your questions, and your stories.
